Eli Wallach. Unsterblichkeit

Jetzt mal zur Entspannung was ganz anderes. Egal wie man Wallstreet 2 bewerten mag, ob der Film ein Thema verschenkt hat oder nicht, ich habe ihn genossen, er war für mich auch eine Illustration zu dem harten Knochen Andrew Ross Sorkins "Die Unfehlbaren". Unsterblich sollte meiner bescheidenen Meinung nach der Film durch die Szenen mit Eli Wallach werden. "It´s gonna be the end of the world..." und dann sein Pfeifen. Sein Pfeifen. Wahrlich, ich pfeife Euch: das Ende der Welt.

Zu Recht fordert Vanity Fair "Dear Academy: Nominate Eli Wallach for Wallstreet 2". Das Pfeifen, dieses Pfeifen werde ich nie vergessen. Vanity Fair schreibt

"The most gripping episodes of the film were Stone’s re-imagining of crisis sessions at the Federal Reserve as Godfather-esque meetings of the five financial “families.” Frank Langella thundered, Josh Brolin connived, and Eli Wallach shone. He dominated these scenes like a desiccated vulture over a high-desert corpse, his lively eyes alight with the sadism of a sardonic angel of economic death. He was financial ruin incarnate—if former Treasury secretary Henry Paulson were half as frightening, maybe Congress would’ve passed TARP the first time around. And that whistle! Watching Wallach foretell social meltdown was like listening to your grandfather talk about living off road kill during the Great Depression and then predicting the exact hour of your death."
